Gold Best in Biz Awards – CT Corporation

The redesign of CT's website, which I led, won Gold.  CT Corporation was specifically honored, in the Best in Biz Awards, for the launch of its Incorporation Wizard -- an online tool designed to help business owners understand entity options -- corporation, LLC, S Corp., etc. -- for structuring their business. The interactive tool educates small business owners on the various entity types so they can make an independent decision about the business structure that best fits their needs.

Ad Age’s Best Places to Work 2015

It was great to win the Crain's Best Place to Work award, but winning for Ad Age is so meaningful.  I'm so proud to be a leader at an agency that won this award and to be apart of a culture that values its people.  Congrats team!

Alexander Interactive was named the 42nd best place to work across all agency in the US.

2015 US Mobile Auto Insurance Functionality Benchmark

Helping MetLife Auto and Home design their first direct to consumer product and the online experience to support quoting, buying and servicing was a challenging endeavor but really worth while.  The research insights alone were super enlightening.  But to see that MetLife placed 2nd on Forrester's 2015 US Mobile Auto Insurance Functionality Benchmark, was an honor.  Prior to 2015 Forrester didn't even rate MetLife's online experiences.

Inc. on Paul Rand

Inc. Senior Writer Ilan Mochari interviewed me for his piece on famed designer, Paul Rand.  I've never been in such good company as he quotes the great Rand and Steve Jobs.  Here are some of my quotes from the piece:

"The thing that, in my mind, separates designers from artists is the ability to work within, and in most cases be made better, by constraints."
"People can't fully tell you exactly everything that they need. They can only talk to you in terms of how they think and what they currently know."

Ladies that UX: Effective UX Portfolios – A Panel Discussion

I was very proud to host this seasoned group of industry veteran women as we candidly addressed different perspectives and approaches for UX portfolios.  The audience questions were great and they spured such great dialogue.  Thanks to She Says for bring together this great group of women.  It was even better to finally get to meet Jennifer Gergen from MeetUp and to be introduced to Francia, who became my first intern at Ai.

SheSays NY: Balancing Speed, Efficiency & Design Integrity

What a deep panel topic!  We got into heated debates and really explored different ways of collaborating.  A lot of the crowd was not UX focused, but more advertising focused so I was happy that I could speak to different environments to appeal to the crowd.  It was so much fun to be moderated by my good friend Julia Sosa.

Neo’s Lean Day: UX

Designing a Lean UX half-day workshop for over 250 people was a challenge, but leading it was an experience I wasn't quite prepared for.  What a great and amazing overload of the senses.  Interacting with that many people in just a few hours was so invigorating.  Seeing people take to new problem solving methods with strangers and feeling prepared to take new techniques back with them to their everyday work life, made me feel that it was all worth it.

NYC UXPA: Speed Dating For Your Résumé

This annual UXPA event is a great one for anyone looking for a job or about to enter the job market.  Ben Tregoing kicked off the night with a great presentation on UX portfolios and then the rest of us met up with the attendees to give them resume tips.  I'm proud to report that my line was one of the longest.

Guest Lecture for Design at RPI

I was very fortunate to be a part of the second graduating class of the RPI EMAC program.  Having an academic foundation in digital design has been a wonderful springboard for my entire career.  In order to give back, I would go back to school and guest lecture for the design program.  I was able to speak and connect with students from 2000 to 2006.  Grad school sadly stopped my trips, but hopefully I'll be able to reconnect with some professors and resume soon.
